At The Risk Of Being Boring........


Here are a few more snaps from the other day and................ a touch of Spring!!

You really need  "The Ride Of The Valkyries" to be playing somewhere while you watch waves like these.

This one is not that dramatic, but even the seagull appears to be in focus.


Well pleased with that.

Wind has always been the one thing that would make me get out of my pram and start throwing toys around.
It's probably something to do with always having had a boat either moored in a harbour or actually living on one.

The wind dictated whether you went to work or whether you could move on and it always seemed to be against you.

Here, on the other hand, it's not bothering me at all.

Many of the islanders are saying that this is the worst they have ever seen in terms of continuous wind and they are getting fed up with it.

I  (being a newbie here)  am thoroughly enjoying it.

These houses -and Hotel- are built to take the weather up here and give you a feeling of security.
Many nights when the shift has ended we have been chatting in the kitchen in warm silence,  then opening the door to leave we have met the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse passing through the garden.

Close the door, quietness, open the door, Horsemen.

Ha Ha Ha.

Today I found these brave little crocuses/croci poking their heads above the soil.

Spring must be on the way!!!!
